Responsibilities include assessing patients, managing withdrawal, handling medications, and addressing medical conditions. The physician consults with family physicians, emergency rooms, psychiatrists, hospitalists, and psychiatric emergency services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide Addiction Medicine services for medical withdrawal
- Conduct daily medical rounds in the inpatient unit
- Assess patients and manage withdrawal symptoms
- Manage medications and ongoing medical conditions
- Provide after-hours telephone call coverage

Requirements:

- Family Practitioner qualification
- Clinical faculty appointment at UBC
- Willingness to teach medical students and residents
- Availability six to seven and a half hours daily
- Availability seven days per week
