Lead flatbread and breakfast R&D; at Bimbo Canada in Mount Hope, Ontario, combining food science expertise with hands-on commercialization leadership.

The Manager, Research and Development leads tortillas, bagels, and English muffins projects. This senior role manages food scientists and technologists while independently delivering formulation, process, and launch work. It partners across Marketing, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead flatbread and breakfast innovation, renovation, and optimization pipelines
Develop formulations and production processes for bakery products
Run lab bakes, plant trials, scale-ups, and launch validations
Provide root-cause troubleshooting and technical Operations support




Coach teams and manage project scope, timing, cost, and risk

Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Science or related field
At least eight years’ progressive food industry R&D; experience
At least five years’ leadership experience in R&D;
End-to-end commercialization and technical transfer experience
Knowledge of CFIA, FDA, food safety, and quality requirements
