As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Health Sciences Centre, you will care for designated patients under general supervision. The position includes independent nursing services, prescribed medical treatments, healthcare-team collaboration, and participation in patient discharge coordination. One year of acute care experience is required, alongside practical nursing education and applicable critical care preparation. The anticipated schedule includes days, nights, and weekends with 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide qualified practical nursing services to designated patients
- Administer prescribed medical treatments independently
- Collaborate and interact within the healthcare team
- Participate in patient care coordination and discharge
- Maintain concentration with frequent interruptions
Requirements:
- One year of acute care experience
- Approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program graduation
- Critical Care Rhythms Course completion
- IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration certification
- Active College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba registration
