This Driver Helper position supports drivers and employees collecting solid waste and recyclable materials. You will help direct vehicle backing, operate truck compaction equipment, and maintain equipment readiness. The work includes customer communication, safety compliance, and route support.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect solid waste and recyclable materials from customer premises
Direct drivers during backing and close space maneuvering
Operate truck equipment to compact collected materials
Audit vehicles for required equipment before departure
Report customer problems to drivers immediately
Requirements:
Valid driver's license
High school diploma or GED desired, not required
One to three months related experience or training desired
Meet safety sensitive function criteria under company standards
Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
Bring secure collection practices, equipment awareness, and customer service professionalism to GFL Environmental routes across Saskatoon.
