Support cancer patients at Edmonton’s Cross Cancer Institute using personal care, communication, and patient-focused support skills. Work within an inpatient team.
As a Health Care Aide, you will support patients across the cancer care continuum. You will work collaboratively with nurses, regulated health professionals, families, and caregivers. Your care will follow patient care plans, facility policies, and procedures while supporting daily living needs.
Key Responsibilities: Assist patients with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety
Provide personal assistance and support services to patients
Observe and report patients’ mood, health, and wellbeing
Assist nurses with routine patient care
Maintain protected environments for patients, staff, and visitors
Requirements: Active or eligible Alberta Health Care Aide registration
Active or eligible practice permit with the CLHA
Proof of Health Care Aide education
Complete Health Care Aide certification within eighteen months
Ability to support effective communication with care teams
Bring compassionate patient support, daily living assistance, and clear reporting skills to Health Care Aide care at CCI.
