As a Referral Clerk with Providence Health Care, you will process physician referrals, prioritize outpatient appointments, and maintain patient information. The temporary part time posting is 0.8 FTE, or 30 hours weekly, with day rotations. Your work supports patient, client, and family-centred care through accurate scheduling, documentation, and communication.
Key Responsibilities: Receive, record, and process physician referrals and re-referrals
Determine appointment priority using patient information and reports
Book consultations, procedures, and ambulatory care appointments




File clinical documents and route records for physician review
Contact patients to confirm information, appointments, and requirements
Requirements: Grade 12 and two years’ recent related experience
Keyboarding speed of 40 words per minute
Knowledge of medical terminology
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize work and operate related equipment
Bring accurate referral processing, appointment coordination, and patient communication skills to Providence Health Care’s BCCA Northern Centre.
