Teach swimming at YMCA BC in Chilliwack with lesson planning, participant evaluation, and water safety responsibilities. This permanent part-time role offers wide-ranging shifts.
The Swim Instructor reports to the Aquatics Supervisor and works with YMCA colleagues. You will teach lessons professionally, develop progressive programs, maintain safety standards, and support positive experiences for members and visitors. The position serves Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre primarily, with work at Cheam Leisure Centre as needed.
Key Responsibilities: Teach swimming lessons positively and professionally
Develop lesson plans and administer progressive evaluations
Enforce pool rules and safety regulations
Perform water rescues and provide first aid or CPR
Complete pool maintenance and administrative records
Requirements: Current Standard First Aid certificate
Current CPR Level C and AED certification
YSI or Swim Instructor Certification
Swimming instruction experience preferred
Three satisfactory references and vulnerable sector check
Bring swimming instruction, safety certification, and customer service skills to YMCA BC’s Chilliwack aquatics programs.
