Coordinate prisoner custody operations with the Township of Langley as a Lead Hand Guard, training staff and maintaining detachment security.
This regular full time position serves the RCMP Division within the Police Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Business Support Police Services, you will guard prisoners, coordinate staffing coverage, schedule guards, and maintain records. The work involves weekly rotating day and afternoon shifts.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate coverage during unplanned guard absences
Train guards and approve their leave
Monitor prisoner activities and maintain safety
Search and inspect cells before and after occupancy
Maintain prisoner records, property, and logbooks
Requirements: Grade 12 and related experience, or equivalent training
Knowledge of prisoner control, custody, escorting, and welfare
Knowledge of fingerprinting and photography techniques
Ability to train employees and schedule coverage
Basic Emergency First Aid with CPR C and AED
Bring prisoner custody knowledge, staffing coordination, and compassionate communication to the Township of Langley’s RCMP detachment.
