This Registered Nurse position serves a specialized hospital workplace within The Ottawa Hospital’s learning and research system. Candidates need recent acute-care psychiatry experience, effective communication, and knowledge of relevant legislation. The work includes referrals, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emergency judgment.

Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, prioritize, organize, implement, and evaluate patient care
Apply crisis intervention techniques in acute psychiatry settings
Make effective referrals using community resource knowledge
Communicate with departments,



police officers, and community partners
Document information thoroughly using personal computers

Requirements:
Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Three months of recent acute-care psychiatry experience
Knowledge of relevant legislation and crisis intervention techniques
Ability to work autonomously and within interdisciplinary teams
Eligibility to work in Canada
