Provide essential daily care and emotional support as a Personal Support Worker serving First Nation communities across Manitoulin Island and area.
This Unregulated Care Provider position works under Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse direction. You will assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, client assessments, and care plans. The work requires accurate electronic records, career development, and quality improvement support. Understanding Anishinaabe culture and Manitoulin Island communities is important.
Key Responsibilities: Provide personal care, safety support, and emotional assistance
Prepare meals and assist clients with daily needs
Remind clients about medications and collect pharmacy prescriptions




Collaborate with nurses on client care plans
Assist nursing staff and complete assigned administrative duties
Requirements: Completed Personal Support Worker Certificate
CPR C and First Aid Certification
Class G license with access to a vehicle
Required Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks
Sensitivity to Anishinaabe culture and interpersonal communication skills
Use compassionate personal care, nurse-directed practice, and community understanding while supporting Anishinabek individuals throughout Manitoulin Island.
