Unit 39 is an eight-bed Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit specializing in crisis stabilization. As an LPN, you will support children and adolescents through acute mental health challenges within an interdisciplinary team. Your practice includes nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making while following Recovery Alberta policies.
Key Responsibilities: Provide safe, quality patient and family centered care
Support short-term crisis stabilization for youth
Engage therapeutically with children and adolescents




Apply nursing processes in an interprofessional team
Use clinical judgment in acute situations
Requirements: Complete an accredited practical nurse education program
Hold active or eligible Alberta LPN registration
Maintain a CLHA practice permit
Hold current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Two years’ child and adolescent mental health experience preferred
Bring compassionate therapeutic engagement, clinical judgment, and nursing expertise to Unit 39’s youth mental health care.
