Plan hands-on activities for children at Kiwassa Neighbourhood House, supporting safe, inclusive care in a part-time East Vancouver contract.
The Out of School Care Leader works Monday to Friday with children ages 6 to 12. This position develops curriculum with staff and the coordinator, assesses children’s needs, and implements experiences within a child-centred environment. The program supports vulnerable children, including those facing trauma-related learning challenges or food, housing, or settlement insecurities.
Key Responsibilities: Develop curriculum and implement hands-on group activities
Assess abilities and adapt activities appropriately
Create and maintain healthy, secure spaces
Consult the Children’s Program Coordinator when necessary
Maintain relationships with schools and staff members
Requirements: Enthusiastic and experienced approach to after school care
One year of recent related experience
Emergency Child Care First Aid or timely certification
Must be at least 19 years old
Use child-centred programming, developmental assessment, and hands-on activities to support Kiwassa’s diverse after school participants.
