Support clinical biochemistry and immunology testing at Peterborough City Hospital, using laboratory skills, analysers, and careful specimen preparation. This Band 3 post is based onsite in Peterborough.
As an Assistant Technical Officer with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, you will provide technical support to Scientific staff. The IBMS accredited laboratory supports education, training, clinical excellence, and development toward IBMS registration and specialist portfolios. You will work under Biomedical Scientist guidance.
Key Responsibilities: Receive pathology specimens for laboratory analysis
Prepare patient samples according to procedures
Run analysers and complete required maintenance




Participate in laboratory testing procedures
Assist with departmental staff training
Requirements: Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and flexible approach
Positive attention to detail in laboratory work
Computer literacy and familiarity with ISO15189 standards
Willingness to participate in extended-hours laboratory rota
Ability to attend onsite interviews
Develop your clinical laboratory experience through specimen handling, analyser operation, and technical support within an accredited service.
