This Journeyman PLT position supports EPCOR Electricity Operations within the System Repair Services team. You will construct, maintain, and repair Distribution and Transmission systems up to 500 kV. The work includes aerial and underground systems, cable testing, fault locating, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities: Switch energized electrical apparatus and automation components
Repair transmission and distribution aerial and underground systems
Splice, terminate, and test insulated power cables
Coach apprentices and supervise non-trades personnel
Respond to emergencies and report safety concerns
Requirements: Powerline Technician Journeyman Certificate and three years’ experience
Valid Class 3 driver’s license; Class 1 preferred
Ability to read technical prints and schematics
Knowledge of grounding, climbing, equipment, and protected work practices
Ability to complete EPCOR’s switching school
Bring Journeyman PLT expertise, switching capability, and live-line skills to EPCOR’s Edmonton System Repair Services team.
