Emergency Veterinarians at VEG provide onsite hospital care, diagnosing urgent conditions and performing emergency surgery for pets, including exotics. This is full time work.

As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will lead care across routine and complex cases in a 24/7 hospital. The position combines physical examinations, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, customer communication, and emergency surgery. VEG supports continuous learning through mentorship, VEG Education programs, and unlimited emergency-focused continuing education.

Key Responsibilities:

- Answer medical questions over the phone
- Examine patients and gather signalment, vitals, and complaints
- Conduct ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
- Diagnose conditions and create therapeutic plans
- Perform minor and major emergency surgeries

Requirements:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
- Ontario College of Veterinarians licensing
- Emergency medicine, surgery, and endoscopy experience
- Ability to lift 25 kilograms independently
- Availability for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
