The Shunt Truck Driver / Route Planner combines yard operations with transportation planning and dispatch coordination. This role connects shipping, receiving, logistics, drivers, and operations teams. Responsibilities include trailer movement, delivery scheduling, route optimization, transportation records, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Move trailers, containers, and equipment throughout the facility yard
Position trailers at loading and unloading docks
Develop daily delivery routes and schedule pickups
Coordinate transportation activities with drivers and warehouse teams
Track delivery status and communicate operational issues
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required
Computer literacy and strong organizational skills
Experience operating yard trucks or tractor-trailers
Knowledge of routing practices and delivery scheduling
Valid driver’s license; AZ/Class 1 considered an asset
Support safe yard operations, effective route planning, accurate transportation records, and dependable customer delivery performance.
