Software Development Engineers in Workday’s AI Platform organization build the infrastructure development platform for AI applications. You will design backend services, distributed systems, and tooling supporting development, deployment, testing, and operations. The work helps teams scale AI-powered workflows reliably.
Key Responsibilities: Build services supporting agent deployment, testing, and lifecycle management
Develop workflow coordination, state management, and tool integration systems
Write maintainable Python code for platform capabilities and APIs
Deploy and operate reliable Kubernetes services




Improve performance across latency, throughput, and fault tolerance
Requirements: Three or more years building backend systems or services
Robust Python proficiency, or comparable Go or Java experience
Experience designing distributed systems and scalable services
Experience operating services in Kubernetes-based environments
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Develop AI agent infrastructure through Python, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and scalable backend services at Workday.
