Perform venipuncture and capillary collections as a full time Phlebotomy Technician with Health PEI in Summerside. Support laboratory services across rotating shifts.
This temporary Phlebotomy Technician assignment runs from December 2026 through December 2027 at Prince County Hospital. You will support Provincial Laboratory Services through specimen collection, intravenous line insertion, accessioning, and related pre-analytical and post-analytical functions. The position includes patient assistance, electronic health record data entry, sample preparation, and laboratory support duties.
Key Responsibilities: Perform venipuncture and capillary specimen collections
Insert intravenous lines in assigned acute care areas
Enter laboratory orders into electronic health records




Assist patients with home-collected specimen drop-offs
Centrifuge, store, package, and ship samples appropriately
Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent
Approved phlebotomy training or qualifying venipuncture experience
Six months’ venipuncture and finger-stick experience may qualify
Eligible for Canadian Society membership as an Associate non-Certificate member
Medical laboratory experience is preferred
Bring phlebotomy, specimen handling, and patient support skills to Health PEI’s Prince County Hospital laboratory services.
