Design The Wizard of Oz set in Bragg Creek using solid visual sense, building skills, and collaborative leadership. Spring production dates are May 22 to 24, 2020.

Swamp Donkey Musical Theatre Society seeks a Set Designer/Lead Builder for its spring production. You will shape the set design with the Director, develop drawings and models, and coordinate construction. The work includes architectural knowledge, construction-plan interpretation, health and safety practices, communication, and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Establish set design and colour palette with production designers
- Create maquettes, diagrams, and accurate construction drawings
- Recruit, coordinate, supervise, and assist builders and painters




- Coordinate props and furnishings with the designated coordinator
- Supervise load-in, technical setup, rehearsals, and set striking

Requirements:

- Strong visual sense and building skills
- Ability to prepare set-design models, diagrams, or drawings
- Knowledge of architectural styles and history
- Ability to interpret construction plans and work within budget
- Leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
