The Role
Prairie Mobile Communications is looking for an experienced 12-volt equipment technician who can move into an installation position with minimal training. This is a full-time permanent position for our location in Calgary, Alberta.

With steady work, a supportive team environment, and meaningful projects that support public safety services such as the Calgary Fire Department, the right individual will excel at working as part of a team or independently as needed and take excellent pride in providing quality workmanship. The successful candidate will also be able to utilize their skills, knowledge, and experience to install, repair, and maintain specialized equipment in a variety of vehicles. By leveraging our nationwide expertise, we supply voice, data, and security video systems that are unmatched in the industry. We make sure people can communicate clearly when it matters most.

Qualifications

Be mechanically inclined and able to work with and maintain hand tools and small power tools.

2 years’ experience in a similar role is a preferred; but will train the right candidate .

Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Excellent time management and organization skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.





Must possess a valid Class 5 Full (Non GDL) driver’s license prior to hire and acceptable driver’s abstract.

Must have own reliable vehicle to use to travel to customer sites in the event that all company vehicles are already in use. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance throughout employment.

Must be physically fit with the ability to bend, stretch, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Mobile Electronics Certified Professional designation is an asset but not required.
