This Band 2/3 Laboratory Support Worker position works with qualified scientists in a multidisciplinary team. Duties span pathology reception, specimen handling, patient data entry, and basic analysis. A positive professional approach to patient care is required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Receive and assess pathological specimens for analysis
- Check patient identification and assign laboratory numbers
- Prepare samples through centrifugation and aliquoting
- Input demographics, clinical details, and assay requests
- Operate simple analysers under Biomedical Scientist supervision

Requirements:

- Relevant previous experience may determine Band 2 or Band 3
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Positive qualified approach to patient care
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Willingness to follow laboratory policies and procedures
