As a Senior Software Engineer on GitHub’s Ecosystem Events team, you will design, implement, test, ship, and support webhook improvements. You will maintain high-volume platforms, investigate delivery problems, and improve service operation. Distributed systems, APIs, and observability are central to the work.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and ship webhook services and API improvements
Build event-driven systems handling high traffic reliably
Debug service-boundary problems and improve observability tooling
Partner with infrastructure teams on performance and dependencies
Support integrations, production health, mentoring, and code reviews




Requirements: Six-plus years delivering production software or equivalent experience
Two-plus years maintaining highly available, high-volume platforms
Two-plus years building and maintaining event-driven systems
Experience with Go, Ruby, or comparable programming languages
Experience with scripting, cloud environments, queues, or databases preferred
