Role Description This is a full time, in office Electrician role based in Nanaimo, BC. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and control systems in residential and commercial settings. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics, performing routine inspections, and testing electrical components to ensure proper operation and safety compliance. The role involves diagnosing faults, troubleshooting electrical issues, and completing corrective work in line with local codes and company standards. The Electrician will also collaborate with team members, communicate clearly with customers, maintain accurate records of work performed, and follow all safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications




Solid knowledge of electricity principles and practical electrical work, including safe handling of electrical systems.
Demonstrated experience with maintenance & repair of wiring, panels, fixtures, and related electrical components.
Proficient troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently and safely.
Understanding of basic electrical engineering concepts relevant to installations, load calculations, and system design.
Valid electrician trade certification or apprenticeship status appropriate for British Columbia; familiarity with BC Electrical Code and applicable standards.
Proven commitment to workplace safety, including use of PPE and adherence to company safety policies.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, building plans, and technical documentation.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
Physical ability to perform on-site work, including standing, bending, lifting, and working in wide-ranging environments.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Nanaimo area.
