As a Senior Software Engineer, you will shape Instacart’s Logistics Platform, powering routing, task allocation, fulfillment tracking, and shopper compensation. You will design scalable services, solve logistics problems, and ship high-impact features. The team supports real-time fulfillment processes globally.
Key Responsibilities: Architect backend applications for routing and task allocation
Track fulfillment status and determine shopper compensation
Lead technical design for high-impact logistics initiatives
Maintain reliable, observable Tier-0 systems with transparent ownership




Mentor engineers on testing and operational practices
Requirements: Five or more years of backend development experience
Fluency in Ruby, Python, Go, or another backend language
Knowledge of REST, RPC, databases, and distributed systems
Experience operating asynchronous, event-driven production systems
Bachelor’s, master’s, or equivalent practical experience
Shape Instacart’s logistics infrastructure through backend engineering, scalable system design, asynchronous systems, and reliable operations.
