Build heavy civil estimating experience at North American Construction Group in Acheson, Alberta, working with quantity take-offs and project documentation.
This Engineering Co-op supports NACG’s Estimating Department during the pre-construction phase of major heavy civil projects. You will interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation while developing conceptual and detailed estimates. The placement includes collaboration with senior estimators and operational personnel, with eight-to-twelve-month terms available and four-month terms considered.
Key Responsibilities: Review RFP packages and prepare executive summaries
Complete quantity take-offs from drawings and client documentation
Develop RFQ packages and coordinate supplier pricing




Build estimate architecture within NACG’s estimating system
Assist with Primavera P6 bid schedules
Requirements: Enrollment in mining, civil, or construction-related post-secondary studies
Solid analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to learn, adapt, and receive feedback
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Apply construction knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail while supporting NACG heavy civil estimate development in Acheson.
