Verity Construction Ltd. is a well-established construction and development company serving Greater Victoria. Our Civil Division specializes in site servicing, excavation, roadworks, and civil construction. We are looking for two reliable, hardworking Construction Labourers to join our team. Position Overview We are hiring two Construction Labourers to work alongside an experienced excavator operator installing Ankora retaining wall systems. This is a hands-on position involving the installation of retaining wall components, backfilling, compacting, and general site work. Applicants must be comfortable performing physical labour outdoors and working safely around heavy equipment. Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of Ankora retaining wall systems.
- Cut pipe and install protective sleeving over retaining wall chains.
- Install and connect chains between retaining wall blocks and base plates.
- Assist the excavator operator with positioning and installing retaining wall components.
- Perform backfilling, grading, and soil compaction.
- Operate plate compactors and other small construction equipment.
- Rake, shovel, and prepare areas for installation and backfilling.
- Work safely around excavators and other heavy machinery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.




- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements
- Previous construction or civil labour experience is an asset.
- Comfortable working around excavators and heavy equipment.
- Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive manual labour.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Experience operating compactors and basic construction tools is an asset.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a small crew.
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn. Retaining wall installation experience is not required. What Verity Construction Offers
