Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and talented Director for our children's production of Disney's Aristocats KIDS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and performance, and have experience working with youth ages 5-10. Rehearsals will be held January 5th-April 18th on Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm and Sundays 12:30-2:30pm at Smithson Public School. Show Week will be April 19th-24th, 2027 at KW Little Theatre. Please Note: This position will require hours beyond the expected 4-6 hour range per week during Show Week as we will have 2 dress rehearsals and 6 performances. Responsibilities
- Working with members of the creative team to create a positive learning environment while maintaining control of actors.
- Leading communication, in conjunction with the Stage Manager, with parents/guardians as needed regarding expectations, absences, behaviour issues, and so forth.
- Planning educational rehearsals, creating a rehearsal schedule so that all aspects of the show are covered.
- Managing an audition process and working with the creative team to cast all participants.
- Working with the creative team to carry out rehearsals, dress rehearsals,



and bring the dramatic performance to completion on the stage. This position will work closely with a creative team (Music Director, Stage Manager, Volunteers) and the General Manager. Qualifications
- Experience as a Director (work, volunteer, community theatre, through school, etc)
- Ability to educate and inspire children and youth of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Proficient in written communication for program planning
- First Aid/CPR Training or willingness to complete
