Coordinate road operations communications in Yarmouth using dispatch, radio monitoring, and accurate administrative records. This spare position supports Nova Scotia infrastructure.
As Baseperson II, you manage communication flow within the Maintenance Base and dispatch people, materials, and equipment. You support summer and winter road construction, snow and ice control, and maintenance operations. The position also provides office administration and public service.
Key Responsibilities: Respond to incoming calls and provide policy and permit information
Record calls and assist with customer complaints and inquiries
Dispatch Equipment Operators to appropriate plow routes
Monitor operators during storms through radio and AVL systems




Report breakdowns and initiate emergency response procedures
Requirements: High school completion and four years office management experience
Strong Windows, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and email skills
Knowledge of the geographical base and emergency response locations
Accurate work, mathematical aptitude, and organizational skills
Robust communication and customer service abilities
Bring dispatch coordination, communication, and office management expertise to Public Works operations at 18 Hardscratch Road.
