Support children and adolescents through mental health counselling and outreach services as a Casual Hospital Community Outreach Counsellor in Abbotsford, B.C.
Fraser Health seeks a counsellor for its CYYA Mental Health and Substance Use Services Transition Team. The position provides one-to-one and group counselling, crisis intervention, and client- and family-centered care. Work follows trauma-informed and evidence-informed practice within a multidisciplinary setting.
Key Responsibilities: Assess client behaviour, emotional status, and mental status
Provide individual and group counselling to children and adolescents
Triage referrals and implement treatment plans
Facilitate community services, programs, appointments, and outreach




Maintain client records, progress notes, and reports
Requirements: Baccalaureate degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work
One year recent related experience with children and youth
Valid B.C. Driver’s License and personal vehicle
Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health issues
Solid conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Use counselling, crisis intervention, and outreach skills to support children, adolescents, caregivers, and families through Fraser Health services.
