- Title: Hospital Security Guard
- Pay Rate: $19.90/hour
- Site: Carbonear General Hospital ## Site Overview Carbonear General Hospital is a modern healthcare facility serving communities across Conception Bay North, the Bay de Verde Peninsula, and Trinity Bay. Combined with the connected Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion long-term care facility, the site provides comprehensive healthcare services ranging from acute and long-term care to specialized clinical programs. ## What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds, including hallways, patient care areas, parking lots, and entrances.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any unusual or suspicious activity right away.
- Manage access control points to ensure restricted areas remain secure.
- Respond to security threats, medical emergencies, and fires, assisting with evacuations when required.
- Help visitors, patients, and healthcare staff find their way while enforcing hospital safety protocols.
- De-escalate tense or stressful situations professionally and calmly.
- Complete clear, accurate daily incident reports and logs.
- Work closely with hospital personnel and emergency responders to maintain a safe workplace. ## Must Haves
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Valid CSA-approved First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening, proof of full primary childhood vaccinations, and an adult Tdap dose (within the last 10 years).
- Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification (or willingness to complete Paladin’s training program prior to onboarding). ## Nice-to-Haves
