Community mental health nursing awaits at Health PEI in Montague, supporting outpatient withdrawal management and opioid agonist programs.
This temporary part time Registered Nurse position serves clients through Community Mental Health & Addictions East. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will assess substance use, suicide risk, and medication histories while coordinating client care. The assignment includes travel to Souris and continues until September 2027, with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities: Complete initial and ongoing client assessments
Screen referrals and recommend appropriate mental health services
Respond to emergencies and clients in crisis
Provide individual and group counselling
Coordinate opioid agonist therapy and withdrawal management clinics
Requirements: Baccalaureate or diploma in nursing
One to three years of nursing experience
Active or eligible Prince Edward Island nursing registration
Knowledge of substance use and chemical dependency
Class 4 driver’s licence or willingness to obtain
Bring assessment, counselling, crisis response, and substance use nursing expertise to Health PEI’s community programs.
