Perform as a Kids on the Block Puppeteer in Edmonton while teaching elementary students about seizures and first aid. This part-time position includes training.
The Edmonton Epilepsy Association is recruiting actors to perform in elementary schools during the school year. Puppeteers educate children to minimize discrimination and increase seizure knowledge. Training in Japanese Bunraku Puppetry is provided, supporting performances with three-foot-tall puppets.
Key Responsibilities: Perform for elementary school students during the school year
Educate children about seizures and seizure first aid
Memorize two performance scripts
Become familiar with epilepsy
Complete one-hour performances and twenty-minute setups
Requirements: Acting experience suitable for puppeteer performances
Availability for this part time position
Ability to commit to one-hour performances
Ability to complete twenty-minute setups
Ability to lift three-foot-tall puppets
Bring acting, memorization, and physical performance skills to educate Edmonton elementary students through Japanese Bunraku Puppetry.
