Lead Eco Camp at Chimo in Markham using outdoor programming and staff supervision skills. This temporary role combines seasonal preparation with full time summer leadership.
The City of Markham seeks a Camp Director to manage an outdoor summer day camp. You will oversee programming, administration, and daily operations for approximately 250 campers aged four to fourteen. The position supervises and coaches 40 to 50 staff, including supervisors, counsellors, specialists, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities: Manage camp planning, delivery, administration, and daily operations
Direct staff resources, schedules, routines, and procedures
Oversee activities, safety, hygiene, weather, breaks, and camper needs
Plan training, coaching, recognition, and performance assessments




Communicate with parents, campers, staff, and City leaders
Requirements: Two years of post-secondary education in Recreation or related fields
Two years or summers supervising camp staff or volunteers
Experience with outdoor programs and adventure activities
Standard First Aid with CPR C or equivalent certification
HIGH FIVE Healthy Child Development certification and driver's license
Bring outdoor leadership, child development knowledge, and camp operations experience to the City of Markham’s Eco Camp.
