Job Summary The Early Childhood Educator at CCCG Preschool plays an significant role in nurturing, teaching, and caring for children in a Christian, faith-based, Reggio Emilia-inspired, play-based environment. The ECE helps create a warm and welcoming space where every child feels loved, seen, valued, heard, and supported. Through caring relationships, intentional teaching, play, exploration, and Christian values, the ECE supports children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development. The ECE works collaboratively with the teaching team and families to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging home away from home for children. Responsibilities
- Provide warm, attentive, and responsive care that supports each child’s wellbeing, development, and individual needs.
- Create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, respected, valued, and encouraged to be themselves.
- Support CCCG Preschool’s Christian values and help children develop kindness, compassion, respect, gratitude, responsibility, and love for others.
- Plan and facilitate play-based, hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, independence, and exploration.
- Support children’s learning through meaningful interactions, open-ended questions, observation, and intentional teaching.
- Incorporate age-appropriate opportunities for Bible learning, prayer, worship, and Christian character development into the classroom experience.
- Observe and document children’s interests, learning, development, and emerging skills, using these observations to support planning.
- Adapt activities, routines, communication,



and teaching approaches to meet the diverse abilities, interests, cultures, and individual needs of each child.
- Support an inclusive environment where every child can participate, belong, and experience success.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider CCCG community.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Support daily routines including meals, toileting, rest, transitions, outdoor play, and classroom responsibilities.
- Follow CCCG Preschool policies, licensing requirements, health and safety practices, and professional standards.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and team members regarding children’s experiences, needs, and development.

- Minimum Level 2 Early Childhood Educator (ECE)



certification recognized by the Government of Alberta.
- Ability to provide warm, responsive, and age-appropriate care to young children.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
- Patience, kindness, flexibility, and attentiveness.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
- Ability to support children’s learning through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions.
- Ability to work respectfully with children and families from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following workplace policies and licensing requirements.
- Willingness to support and uphold the Christian values and philosophy of CCCG Preschool. Special Consideration:
- Level 1 ECE certification may be considered under special circumstances, based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and the staffing needs of the preschool. Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a preschool, daycare, childcare, or classroom environment.
- Experience with play-based or Reggio Emilia-inspired learning.
- Experience supporting children with disabilities, developmental differences, or additional support needs.
- Experience working collaboratively with families, educators, and support professionals.
- Experience incorporating faith, Christian values, Bible stories, prayer, or worship into learning experiences. Pay: $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 – 40.0 per week
