This Staff Software Engineer, AI role sits within Product Engineering at Maple. You will own customer-facing AI capabilities while partnering with Product, Design, Platform, Security, Privacy, and clinical experts. The work spans discovery, architecture, implementation, launch, monitoring, and iteration.
Key Responsibilities: Own an AI product area from discovery through iteration
Design production systems using LLMs, agents, and retrieval
Write code, review designs, debug issues, and operate systems
Measure quality, safety, reliability, latency, and cost




Create reusable patterns and mentor engineers across Maple
Requirements: Eight-plus years building and operating production software
Recent experience shipping AI or LLM product features
Solid software engineering fundamentals and pragmatic technical judgment
Hands-on coding experience in a modern production language
Experience influencing direction and mentoring engineers across teams
Bring staff-level technical leadership, AI delivery experience, and product engineering judgment to Maple’s Toronto healthcare platform.
