Design scalable data infrastructure in Toronto with Okta, using distributed systems and streaming technologies to support analytics and machine learning.
As a Senior Software Reliability Engineer, you will build foundational services within Okta’s Data Platform organization. The position focuses on high-volume, low-latency distributed data-platform services and products. You will design, deploy, optimize, and own streaming infrastructure using technologies including Kinesis, Flink, Elasticsearch, and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities: Design scalable, high-performance data platform components
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners
Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and performance tuning
Coach and mentor engineers across the organization




Debug production issues and participate in incident management
Requirements: Three or more years of industry experience
Two or more years using object-oriented languages, preferably Java
Experience with Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Beam, or Snowflake
Understanding of multithreading, garbage collection, and memory management
Experience with data quality, observability, and incident management
