About Us
The Port Colborne Sailors are a junior hockey club in the Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL), building a competitive, player-first program focused on developing young athletes on and off the ice. The Role We're looking for a dependable, qualified Athletic Trainer to oversee player health and safety. You'll be the first line of care for our players at practices, home games, and road trips, and a key part of our hockey operations staff. Responsibilities
- Attend all home and away games and scheduled practices
- Provide on-ice and bench-side emergency response and first aid
- Assess, treat, and manage player injuries; refer to physicians or therapists when needed
- Run concussion protocols in line with Rowan's Law and Hockey Canada/OHF requirements
- Tape, wrap, and prepare players before games and practices
- Maintain injury reports, medical files, and return-to-play documentation
- Stock and maintain the trainer's kit, AED, and medical supplies
- Communicate player availability to the coaching staff and GM
- Support strength, conditioning, and injury-prevention programs Qualifications




- Hockey Trainers Certification Program (HTCP) Level 2 required (Level 1 plus current Standard or Advanced First Aid with CPR Level C and AED, valid for the full season)
- Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)), Sport Therapist, physiotherapy or kinesiology background is a strong asset (students welcome to apply)
- Own professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- Transparent Vulnerable Sector Check
- Respect in Sport (or equivalent) completion
- Available evenings and weekends, including bus travel to road games
- Calm under pressure, organized, and able to keep confidential medical information private
