About Us
WA-BAGEL is a Japanese-style bagel bakery in downtown Vancouver and a proud member of the Aburi Restaurants Group. We specialize in unforgettably chewy bagels crafted with natural fermentation and our house-made Koji sourdough, alongside classic Japanese breads like Melon Pan and Curry Pan. What You Will Do & Training Working closely with our Head Baker, you will receive hands-on training in Koji sourdough management and Japanese-style bagel production while handling daily operations:
- Mix dough, manage fermentation, and monitor proofing stages.
- Divide, shape, fill, boil, and bake bagels and seasonal breads.
- Maintain recipe accuracy, product consistency, and a clean, food-secure environment.
- Assist with inventory and occasional off-site events. Qualifications




- Prior experience with fermented/yeasted dough or an artisan baking education.
- Familiarity with commercial bakery equipment and sourdough starters.
- Able to work safely in a physical, fast-paced production environment.
- Availability to work five shifts per week, starting at 6:00 AM. Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
