– Shift Manager Juicy Birds Position: Shift Manager Department: Restaurant Operations Reports To: Store Manager / Owner Job Summary The Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent customer service, food quality, cleanliness, food safety, and efficient team performance. The Shift Manager leads employees, manages orders and inventory, handles customer concerns, and ensures Juicy Birds standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities
1. Shift Operations
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant activities during assigned shifts.
- Ensure the restaurant is properly opened and closed according to company procedures.
- Assign duties to team members and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
- Monitor order preparation, accuracy, and service speed. 2. Team Management
- Supervise, support, and motivate team members throughout the shift.
- Ensure employees follow their assigned schedules, uniform requirements, and workplace policies.
- Assist with training new employees and monitoring their performance.
- Ensure proper shift handovers and communicate operational issues to management. 3. Customer Service
- Ensure customers receive friendly, professional, and timely service.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders are accurate and prepared according to Juicy Birds standards. 4. Food Safety and Cleanliness
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health inspection requirements.
- Monitor food handling, cooking temperatures, storage, and product freshness.
- Ensure kitchen equipment, workstations, dining areas, and washrooms remain clean.
- Follow proper cleaning schedules and ensure staff complete their assigned cleaning duties. 5. Inventory and Stock Control
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying order quantities.
- Follow proper food storage, rotation,



and waste-control procedures.
- Minimize food waste and report damaged, expired, or missing products. 6. Cash Handling and Reporting
- Operate the POS system and ensure orders are entered correctly.
- Follow cash-handling procedures and complete till reconciliation when required.
- Report discrepancies, refunds, voids, and unusual transactions to management.
- Communicate equipment problems, customer incidents, and other operational concerns promptly. 7. Performance and Accountability
- Ensure employees follow company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain productivity during busy periods and ensure adequate workflow.
- Complete shift checklists, cleaning logs, and other required reports.
- Take responsibility for the overall performance and condition of the restaurant during the assigned shift. Qualifications and Skills
- Previous restaurant or quick-service food experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is an asset.
- Robust communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead by example.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and customer-focused.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performance Expectations The Shift Manager is expected to maintain high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness, employee accountability, order accuracy, and operational efficiency. The individual must demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and ownership of all responsibilities during assigned shifts. Note: The Shift Manager is responsible for managing shift-level operations and must report significant incidents, staffing concerns, financial discrepancies, and other matters requiring management approval to the Store Manager or Owner.
