Casual Program Assistant Overview Parents & Children Together (PACT) Family Resource Centre is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Casual Program Assistant to join our team This hands-on position involves working alongside our program facilitators to create welcoming, engaging experiences for children and families at our Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage locations. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and is happy to lend a hand wherever needed. From helping with playgroups and family activities to organizing donations and keeping our centres running smoothly, this is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. Responsibilities
- Assist facilitators with playgroups, parent-child activities, and other family programs.
- Welcome families and help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- Engage with children and caregivers during activities and free play.
- Prepare program materials, crafts, activities, and refreshments.
- Assist with program setup, cleanup, and maintaining safe, organized spaces.
- Help organize our community closet, clothing donations, and family essentials.
- Assist with taking attendance and daily centre activities.
- Support special events, seasonal activities, and other community initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure programs run smoothly. Qualifications & Requirements
- Friendly, dependable, patient,



and comfortable working with children and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to take initiative, work as part of a team, and assist with a variety of tasks.
- Basic organizational and computer skills.
- Experience working with children, families, or in a community setting is an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required before starting employment.
- Ability to work at both our Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage locations. Position Details Pay: $18-20/hour Hours: Approximately 8-16 hours per week, with additional hours possible Schedule: Primarily weekday mornings, approximately 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
