Sokil Transportation Group is a well-established, family-owned company specializing in transportation, logistics, and warehousing. With over 74 years of industry experience, we provide reliable transportation and logistics solutions across Western Canada. Our operations are supported by an asset-based fleet of 100+ power units and 300+ trailers, providing a range of transportation services including local and highway transportation, container drayage, warehousing, and distribution. Duties
- Dispatch drivers to pick up and deliver freight efficiently.
- Create and edit driver manifests and bills of lading (BOLs).
- Schedule pickups and deliveries to meet customer requirements.
- Take pickup orders by phone and enter information accurately into the dispatch system.
- Track driver hours of service and review driver logs as required.
- Conduct daily yard checks and monitor equipment and trailer availability.
- Coordinate driver switches as required.
- Coordinate truck and trailer maintenance with the appropriate shop.
- Collect and maintain container numbers and related pickup and return information.
- Ensure drivers complete required pre-trip inspections and follow safety requirements.
- Provide backup support to other dispatch and operations staff as required.
- Coordinate with Accounts Managers and other staff to meet customer requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations staff to maintain smooth workflow.
- Assign operational resources as needed,



including fuel cards.
- Review and approve driver timesheets and schedules as required.
- Communicate with customers, drivers, staff, and other parties.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, manifests, BOLs, and driver information.
- Monitor compliance with transportation regulations and company procedures.
- Ensure vehicle weights, dimensions, and other applicable requirements are addressed.
- Liaise with enforcement officers or other regulatory parties when required. Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian transportation regulations and commercial vehicle compliance.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Robust verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing operational needs in a fast-paced dispatch environment.
- Familiarity with transportation, dispatch, and related computer systems.
- Familiarity with CN, CP, and container return systems is an asset.
