Job Description: The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) is accountable for promoting high quality care through assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating the total care needs of our patients/residents/clients (P/R/Cs). The RN/RPN is required to coordinate with all the departments within the facility, families and professionals associated with P/R/Cs care. The RN/RPN must promote effective communication in the facility through care given and reporting mechanisms. The RN/RPN is expected to participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain their own skilled competence.

Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable

- Intermediate - Interpersonal skills
Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions on patient care and coordination of equipment
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications
- Ability to keep effective work relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

- Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
