Operate Kingston’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems using regulatory knowledge and maintenance skills in a permanent full-time position. Support protected drinking water, sewage conveyance, and fire protection readiness.

This Water/Wastewater Systems Operator works within Water Wastewater System Operations. The unionized operations position requires system monitoring, inspections, maintenance, emergency repairs, and regulatory documentation. Operators apply Ontario requirements, DWQMS standards, traffic control practices, and company procedures while supporting reliable utility service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems
- Monitor equipment and make required operational adjustments
- Conduct outfall and shoreline surveys after weather events




- Evaluate damage and complete emergency system repairs
- Complete operational, maintenance, and regulatory documentation

Requirements:

- Water utility construction and maintenance planning experience or OIT certification
- Intermediate water and wastewater regulatory knowledge
- Proficiency with CCTV, sonar, and correlator locator equipment
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and hand tools
- Basic MS365 skills and satisfactory criminal record check
