Lead environmental compliance assurance in Peace River, applying enforcement expertise, operational planning, and staff coaching within Alberta’s Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas.

This permanent, full-time supervisory position reports to the Compliance Manager and serves as the senior peer for regional inspectors and investigators. You will coordinate annual operational plans, lead provincially significant compliance undertakings, and perform Environmental Protection Officer duties. The work supports environmental outcomes and sustainable natural resource development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate annual operational plans for the regional compliance team
- Lead provincially significant compliance undertakings and enhancement initiatives
- Mentor and coach ministry staff, peers, and external stakeholders




- Conduct inspections or investigations within and beyond the district
- Enforce the Water Act and Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act

Requirements:

- Two-year diploma in environmental management, compliance, or related field
- At least seven years in technical compliance or enforcement
- Solid Environmental Protection Officer duties knowledge
- Communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and policy development skills
- Analytical judgment for complex environmental compliance situations
