This Staff Software Engineer, AI role sits within Product Engineering at Maple. You will own customer-facing AI capabilities while partnering with Product, Design, Platform, Security, Privacy, and clinical experts. The work spans discovery, architecture, implementation, launch, monitoring, and iteration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own an AI product area from discovery through iteration
- Design production systems using LLMs, agents, and retrieval
- Write code, review designs, debug issues, and operate systems
- Measure quality, safety, reliability, latency, and cost
- Create reusable patterns and mentor engineers across Maple
Requirements:
- Eight-plus years building and operating production software
- Recent experience shipping AI or LLM product features
- Robust software engineering fundamentals and pragmatic technical judgment
- Hands-on coding experience in a modern production language
- Experience influencing direction and mentoring engineers across teams
