Lead Adopt Thames Valley from Oxford with strategic leadership, operational management, and expertise in adoption and children’s social care legislation.

As Head of Adopt Thames Valley, you will direct a Regional Adoption Agency within Oxfordshire County Council’s Children’s Services Directorate. The full time role focuses on effective, cost-effective delivery, excellent outcomes, service sustainability, and statutory compliance. You will work with local authorities and voluntary sector partners across the Thames Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead strategic development and operational delivery of the agency
- Set, monitor, and deliver a balanced budget
- Provide strategic advice on adoption and permanence matters
- Develop partnerships with authorities, agencies, adopters, and adoptees




- Ensure regulatory, legislative, and council policy compliance

Requirements:

- Recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registration
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practical application
- Knowledge of performance management and quality assurance frameworks
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice and service improvement
- Extensive budget management and financial planning knowledge
