Provide emergency care in Peterborough as a full time Physician Assistant, applying clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning within PRHC’s Emergency Department.

Peterborough Regional Health Centre seeks a Physician Assistant for a temporary fixed term position ending February 8, 2027. Working under Emergency Physician supervision, you will assess, diagnose, treat, monitor, and disposition patients across wide-ranging acuity levels. The role supports safe, efficient, evidence informed care while contributing to emergency department priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess, diagnose, treat, monitor, and disposition Emergency Department patients
- Perform timely diagnostic workups, treatment initiation, and reassessment
- Support patient flow, admission avoidance, and reduced length of stay




- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and education initiatives
- Use performance data to support departmental goals and deployment

Requirements:

- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- NCCPA or PACCC certification, or PACCC eligibility
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum two years of relevant acute care experience
