Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Liquor Store Clerk to support daily store operations. The ideal candidate enjoys helping customers, keeps shelves and displays organized, and handles transactions accurately. This role requires a professional approach to age-restricted sales and compliance with applicable laws and store policies.

Duties

- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide courteous, attentive customer service.
- Recommend products based on customer preferences and explain product features; conduct product demos when permitted by store policy and applicable regulations.
- Support retail sales through helpful suggestions and appropriate upselling.
- Operate the POS system, process purchases, and complete cashiering tasks accurately.
- Handle cash and other payment methods responsibly, follow cash-handling procedures, and perform basic math for transactions and change.
- Verify customer age and follow all requirements for the sale of age-restricted products.
- Stock, rotate, and merchandise products; maintain clean, orderly shelves and displays.




- Answer store calls using professional phone etiquette and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.
- Manage tasks efficiently during busy periods while maintaining strong time management and organizational skills.

Requirements

- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Retail sales, cashiering, POS, and cash-handling experience preferred.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Merchandising experience and confidence discussing products are beneficial.
- Technology sales or technical sales experience is a plus, particularly when explaining product features or demonstrating products.
- Professional phone etiquette, reliable time management, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow store procedures and applicable laws, including age-verification requirements for restricted products.
- Dependable, courteous, and comfortable working collaboratively in a retail environment.

Pay: From $15.70 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
