Kakwa Stone is a snow and ice industry leader in Grande Prairie with a outstanding customer base, modern fleet of snow removal equipment, and a close-knit family atmosphere. We have returning seasonal operators year to year that are retired, employed part time, or are generally flexible with scheduling. This tends to be the best fit for both parties. Kakwa Stone employs people who are highly self-motivated and like to produce precise work with consistency. This is why our customers and staff continue to return to our team.

Shifts start at 5am-3pm and start at 3pm-11pm and vary slightly due to weather conditions. In certain circumstances evening shift does start later or finish later to complete jobs based on the severity of the snow event. Kakwa uses modern wheel loaders with snow specific pushers and angle blades to clean large and small commercial accounts. A separate sidewalk and sanding crew are also present to aid in a full service clean of snow from site. After snow is piled on site we transition into hauling to our private snow dump in tandem dump trucks.

We do not work a night shift. Which is unique for most snow removal operations.



We find night shift is hard on the mental health of our team and can lead to more opportunity for accidents. We also believe our team benefit from as much sunlight as possible during our dark winters. These are some of the challenges that we have ironed out in past seasons that will allow you to enjoy your work and realize time for your family, friends and recreation.

Kakwa Stone’s Needs

-Applicant is available when weather calls, if it snows we go's.

-Applicant is a Calculated, seasoned operator w/ experience in commercial snow that doesn’t sacrifice safety and quality for speed.

-Applicant must be a positive influence to those around them by having a helping nature, and desire to work as a member of a team.

-Class 5 license or higher is required, but class 3 or higher is preferred.
