Lead computational plasma physics research at Type One Energy, focusing on stellarator boundary behavior, divertor modeling, and particle and heat exhaust. This permanent, full time role follows a hybrid work policy.
As Senior Computational Physicist - Boundary Physics, you will guide advanced edge, scrape-off layer, and divertor research. You will develop predictive models for plasma-material interactions, impurity transport, and operational boundaries. The work supports Infinity One through collaboration with physics, engineering, and experimental teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead boundary plasma research and divertor design analysis
- Model stellarator edge and divertor physics using simulation tools
- Analyze core-edge coupling, exhaust, impurities, and operational boundaries
- Develop plasma-material interaction and component lifetime assessments
- Mentor scientists and coordinate modeling activities
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in plasma physics or related field
- Expertise in SOL, divertor, and boundary plasma physics
- Stellarator edge physics experience highly desirable
- Experience with EMC3-EIRENE, SOLPS-ITER, UEDGE, or comparable tools
- Approximately 10 or more years in fusion edge physics
Apply computational plasma physics leadership to stellarator boundary research, divertor design, and predictive fusion modeling at Type One Energy.
